Hanging plant in shady area?

Question

i am looking for a flower, shrub, or vegetable etc, to put in hanging basket outside my apartment. the only thing is it doesn't get much sun out there. it gets a Little but not much. any suggestions?

Impatiens are shade tolerant, there are three different kinds: double or rosebud (they look very similar to a mini rose), new guinea impatiens (the leaves are darker and the flowers are bigger, and brighter), and then regular impatiens. Torenia (nicknamed "wishbone flower"), begonias, and fuschia will also do well. There are quite a few house plants that would work too.

A Fuchsia is great for shady areas, so are Begonias. What weather do you have? Most flowers can't handle outdoors in cold weather.

My favorite hanging plant is Bridal Veil. I also like Wondering Dew and Ivy. There are so many shade tolerate plants. There are not any vegetables that i know of though. Most veggies need sun to bloom and produce. Another lovely flower is called Mona Lavender. I am not sure if it would be appropriate for a hanging basket, but it will definitely do good in the shade. You my also want to try a Rex or Non-Stop Begonia. Or maybe even a Impatient or Torenia. Good Luck and Happy Planting!
