What he Really wants to do is have the parents send the kids to school so the school in turn pays the government more. He also "Asks moms to go back to school" so the moms spend more again and they send their kids to daycare so they spend even MORE money.

    First there was First grade.
    Then there was Kindergarden.
    After that, there was Pre-k.
    Then there was Preschool.
    Now there's Headstart.
Next there will be Obama's Youth!

(Get the hint? he wants our money)

Our school calendar, for most schools, is based on a farming model from over 100 years ago. School days, the number of days, the school hours all were originally designed to meet the needs of farming families.

Most nations have changed their school schedules to include more days of schooling and longer hours since kids don't need to go home to do farm chores any longer.

The US has not made any major changes in it's school schedules.

Obama's idea is simply to get the US to do what many other nations have done, increasing the number of school days and hours and get rid of the old farming educational schedule.
