Of mice and men important quote?

'Why ain't you accepted' Lennie in crooks' bunkhouse why is this quote so important? I need help! thank youu <3

    It shows Lennie's naivety and innocence in a world of racial prejudice. He cannot understand why Crooks would not be accepted, and he is so childlike is his manner that he just blurts out his question with no thought of how it might make Crooks feel, or of how inappropriate it is to ask.

    It can also be seen as an attempt to reach out to a fellow outcast, because obviously Lennie isn't really accepted either. It can be seen as an attempt to understand the situation too.
