What's so good about Twilight?

Almost everyone I see is obsessed with Twilight. What's so good about it? I find the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling and the House of Night series by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast way better. I really don't get why so many people are obsessed with it. Personally, I hate it. So what IS so "great" about it?

I'm wondering the same thing too . . . I read it because of the hype but was quite disappointed. I guess it's really popular because it's the ultimate fantasy for a girl. I once read somewhere that psychologists did a test on readers of Twilight and found that most of the fans were usually girls / women who couldn't get boyfriends or were dissatisfied with their marriages. =S

its only because it taps into the hormones. i read them when i was at the end of my pregnancy and loved them. now i look back and wonder what all the hoopla was about. my hormones were shooting at that point and now that im back to normal...i think they're crap lol!

its sad that stephenie meyer got famous for turning on a bunch of teenagers. she's really not a great writer. even Stephen King said so lol

For me, its the fact that it is a different take on the vampire genre and it caught my imagination. I get really tired of "canon" vampires.
