I'm in high school. I know what I want to do with my life. But, how do I do it? help?

I want to go to college and double major in business and horticulture because I want to open up my own flower shop and green house. I want do be able to grow my own exotic flowers and and others and do wedding arrangements, cut bouquets, and starter plants. How do I go about this? Does what I have sound good? Please let me know if you have suggestions or anything.

That's a great career to invest in. Business Management is what you should focus on the most, however. It really depends on your location, and the area in which flower business would be most prosperous. For example, if you open the shop in the city, you are most likely going to get more business, but in a rural town, etc, you may not. So choose your location wisely. Here's some steps.

1) Find multiple colleges that pertain to the field you're wanting to go into.

2.) Determine what core classes you'll have to take that will help you major in that field.

3.) Try to find a job working in a flower shop, so you can get an idea on how to manage, operate, and succussfully open your own!

Its good that you already know what you want to do. Most high school kids are still unsure on what they want to do with their life.

Join the military and serve a few years. Then, they will pay for your college and help you get set up in a business. It will all be worth it in the end. I promise.

Hmm. Well, I think you should follow through with the flower shop idea, although you can also have a special decorating service offered through your flower shop- that way you can follow through with both of your plans and promote your flower shop's sales.

let me tell you something. opening a bussiness is not as easy as it soiunds.
since you are young try to keep you options open. and open your minds door for any future.
because if you keep your options open so many doors of opportinunt will open toward you.

businesses not always succeed, high school is the pathway to college do what u intend to do there, after u get a job and u have extra time on ur hands u can apply for a bank loan for ur shop, the bank is more likely to give u a loan if u have a college education something to fall back on if ur business takes a dive, so the bank knows u can always fall back on something to pay them back.
they'lll take that risk with u.

continue working and have someone run ur shop for u hire a manager, get to know ppl, like wedding planners, ladies at the bridal stores things like that......to promote ur business u will need to go to wedding shows where tons of brides are...........when ur flower shop builds up u can leave ur job then take care of ur flower shop full time
