Avoid talking to the public school board unless you can afford to get legal insurance FIRST. Go to hslda.org and see what they charge, but I know it's probably more than you want to part with since you're trying to support a baby.

Since the school district hasn't tried to have you arrested it sounds like they're content to leave you be. Some states don't require attendance after the age of 16. Some will drop the mandatory attendance bit after your 18th birthday. That's why you should not go to the local schools and start something about whether you can "have their permission" to school yourself. On top of all the other considerations, you can enter community college at 18 no matter how badly educated you are, and they offer you classes that will catch you up to where you should be with other high school students (except that you'll be in college). For example, the community colleges in California all offer a math series that starts with elementary school arithmetic, then moves along to fractions, percents, pre-algebra, beginning algebra, and so on up. And they usually have on-campus cooperative day care.

For you, I highly recommend independent schooling at home. You can look for a correspondence school or "distance learning" or an online school if you think you can handle one that sets the schedule for you. A lot more risky but more satisfying is enrolling in classes where you set the pace yourself. That requires more discipline. You know yourself, pick what you think you can stick with.

Check that second link below. Gomilpitas.com has all the information you're seeking.

Good luck.

Oh, and pay no attention to the jerks who didn't answer your question because they were too busy playing your mommy so they could chew you out for what you already know.
