If Jack Kerouac was in his twenties today, what bands do you think he would listen to?

As I read Kerouac, and he talks about all of the great Jazz musicians, I often wonder, if he was still on the road today, what kind of music would he listen to? back in the later 40's and mid 50's when kerouac wrote, there was not much to listen to besides jazz, so what 90's and above bands do you think he would like?

Gangster rap, East European Punk, or J-pop

Kerouac was always a music snob and would rhapsodized about the provenance of the music. So pick an obscure genre for him to obsess over, to build flights of fancy about the performers, and with a beat that worked for being drunk.

From this distance, you say "not much besides jazz", but that is decidedly untrue as you look at the variety of pop music that was around at that time.
