It is priority, they think they are getting more good out of hosting the Olympics than they would from solving the homeless problem.
I agree since putting money into the homeless problem is not going to fix the problem.
You can build a home for each homeless person, and pay all of their bills and there would still be homeless on the streets.

We are already do many things to curb homelessness:
- welfare
- shelters
- drug programs
The next thing is to just give them homes... That is stupid. Being homeless isn't supposed to be easy, we can't make it easy.
Most of the homeless people are drug addicts. IMO the olympics promote sports and healthy living and deliver positive role models to our youth. People who are devoted to organised sports don't do hardcore drugs.
