Is J.K. Rowling in the process of writing anymore books? And are there any similar serieses to Harry Potter?

I just finished HP 7, and i think i'm about to cry. ): AHHH, i just feel so EMPTY, cause I feel like I actually KNOW them, and now there are NO MORE HP BOOKS..... *wails heartbrokenly* ARGHHHH..... *hiccups morosely*

ANYWAY

I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to know if there are any rumors of J.K. Rowling writing anymore series's? Or books??? And are there any books similar to Harry Potter - in ANY way? Like... a book that makes you bond with the characters alot? Cause I've always immersed myself in a book when things got rough, since it's sort of like leaving your own mind to occupy another for a while [yep, i'm just a SLIGHT bookworm...(::] and HP worked SO WELL for me, cause I could always relate to the characters, and everything was amazingly realistic, especially when everything is based around a world that doesn't exist!! *sad sob* AND POOOR SNAPEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! he's BY FAR my FAVORITE-EST CHARACTER IN THE BOOK!!!! *wipes away tears sadly* I LOVELOVELOOOOVE him!!

Well.... thanks in advance. ): best answer will be awarded!!

Only thing left is a HP World Encyclopedia, but that comes later. Right now she's working on some totally different children's books, aimed at younger children.

Have you looked into the supplementary books that go with the series?

There are 3 of them:
Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them
Quidditch Through the Ages
Tales of Beedle the Bard

As for books that make you bond.. I quite liked His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman, and also the Abhorsen trilogy, by Garth Nix.

You know how, in the 7th book, they mention the Tales of Beetle the Bard? Well J. K. Rowling wrote a book called The Tales of Beedle the Bard, and it's already published. I read them, they're pretty good :D And I think she is writing a Harry Potter encyclopedia. Plus she's also written Quidditch Through the Ages, and Fantastical Beasts and Where to Find Them.

And I don't have any books that can match the HP series in any way ;) but here are some of my favorites:
    Uglies by Scott Westerfield
The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillipa Gregory
    The Mortal Instruments

Try reading the 3 accompanying books that were mentioned above, but to make sure you get as much of the HP world as possible. Then start on a new series like The Last Apprentice by Joseph Delaney, or The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis (these wouldn't be quite the same though, because not all the same characters are in all the books, but the world is the same and amazing), or the Arthur trilogy by Kevin Crossley-Holland, or Eragon by Chris Paolini, Warriors by Erin Hunter (directed at young kids, but I liked them), Inkheart by Cornelia Funke, Xanth novels by Piers Anthony, The Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey, The Dragon and the George by Gordon R. Dickson....
These are some of books I have read after reading the Harry Potter series and I liked them all. I know what you mean about the feelings after the HP series. I felt the same way. I have even reread the series many many times just to try and keep that connection with it. I am pathetic. lol But it was such an in-depth heart-retching series that I just was in love with them.

I agree with the first answer. Jo Rowling is planning to do a Harry Potter Encyclopedia, which should be published in about 4 years, but is writing something totally different than Harry Potter.

The Magicians is supposed to be similar to HP. I've heard its good, but never read it.

Wow, you are pretty histerical :) I was, too, when I finished the Deathly Hallows book :'( I cried so hard during the entire book! All the pages have tear stains for proof! But that was, like, two years ago. Hey, if u love HP so much, then why did it take you so long to finish the Deathly Hallows? Just wonderin.

i feel the same way, she has stated on her twitter that
"However, I should flag up now that although I could twitter endlessly, I’m afraid you won’t be hearing from me very often.......................as pen and paper is my priority at the moment"

and i think on leakynews.com it was stated that she is currently working on something, but it's not harry potter.

try The lightning thief by rick riordan

    Eragon by Christopher Paolini

Redwall by brian jacques is another favorite of mine.

The Hunger Games by suzanne collins
also some libraries have lists of books like harry potter, you might try googling this.

also, seeing as have been a fan for 10 years, i have read the first 6 books about 20-30 times average per book and i have read book 7 about 5 times. you might try rereading the books and see if there was anything that you missed the first time through, especially in Chamber of Secrets O_o

hope you try my suggestions and find another book series that you can love

i SO know what you mean. i was in tears back in july 2007 when i read deathly hallows the first time. i so rememeber those days when i was reading the book... i'd always be looking forward to when i'd once again be plunging myself into another chapter... getting lost into the depths of it... no other book EVER gave me this feeling. and i know! i felt SO SORRY FOR SNAPE!!! at the end, it was sooo freakin hard to realize that the series had ended. i mean, no more harry potter!! no more hogwarts!! no more Harry, Ron and Hermione. it's pretty depressing. i want more too, we never got to find out how George felt about Fred's death (it's so unfair that he died!), i was practically hanging on to the last page, staring at it, reading it over and over again, wanting more, not accepting the fact that it was all over. the end.

yeah anyway, JKR is writing an encyclopedia, which will contain information on the character's futures. like what became of them. and she says she might write something based on the wizarding world, but it wont necessarily be harry's point of view. like, it'll be someone else's story, but in the same world. i'm looking forward to that!

Oh my gosh! I feel so sorry for you, dude! I felt the same way long, long time ago...when I finished Harry Potter...It was a great book and it will always be and even the fantastic author herself once said that she was never going to get anything as brilliant as Harry again! And who can blame the lady? She has already done something so great for all of us by producing Harry. You know, my english teacher suggested the book and I was like "No way! That is a guy's book and I hate books like that!" Then I read the first one and IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!!!!!! The ending of HP7 is fantastic. I didn't know that anyone else LOVED SNAPE, like me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are fantastic!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't it just wonderful how that old rotten guy actually reveals that he was working for Dumbledore all along, just to save Harry, the son of the woman he loved and his worst enemy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!

JK Rowling has not written any other fantastic books yet, but she has written all sorts of other books related to Harry Potter. Like, the tales of Beedle the bard and Fantastic Beasts and where to find them. Pretty good story books but not at all lovely as Harry Potter!!!!!!!! Ok, so, well then good luck! Have fun watching the movies and stuff....

*Last thing: Some time back, I heard that she was writing mystery books or something. Make of it what you want!!!!!!!!!! Isn't that exciting?????

Oh, and you must read Ranger's Apprentice. Just like HP, it rocks and I am sure you will love it....
