What effects did kurt cobain/nirvana have on america?

i'm doing this essay/project type thing. and i need three effects. help please?

i had to write a paper on that last year. Mainly he created a basis for a new rock sound. When Nirvana was formed, music was barely getting out of the whole "80's hard rock" phase. Kurt Cobain merely took rock to a new level.

well 1 effect is that he made the best grunge songs of all time and that he will be remembered but he showed ppl some arent actually happy when they look happy

He basically invented grunge, which basically gave 90's teens a way to express themselves through music.

He showed the Negative effects drugs can have on a person, (depression, reliance, etc..)

Nirvana became the musical rock symbol of the 90's. No other band had a larger influence during that time.
