Jockeys causing a Inquirey?

I was watching a race yesterday at woodbine in Canada...and the lead horse was starting to get passed by the outside horse...Until the Jockey of the lead horse took his wip and scared off the pursuing horse with a wide whipping and striking the other horse on the nose......is this legal...and will the Stewards ever take a horse down for this kinda interference...?

You bet the stewards will step in. Interfering with another horse or rider during a race is not only unsportsmanlike, it is illegal. The jockey will no doubt be suspended, but will probbly be fined as well. In a case such as this one, he may evven have his license revoked or suspended indefinately. Most jockey's have better sense than this. I hope they throw the book at him.
