Does it annoy you when people haven't heard of famous bands or people like Kurt Cobain or Nirvana etc?

Right I know it sounds hard to believe, but I have met people who have never ever heard of them, and I met an 18 year old kid who has never heard of Led Zepellin or Bob Dylan or AC/DC and a girl in my class (I'm 16) never heard of Radiohead, and another girl didn't know who John lennon was, I mean what is this? I think its ignorant and disgusting what about you?

I think it is ignorance and it is disgusting, they are important in history, and I think people should know about them, and then they claim they love music but listen to pure shite and haven't heard of real music.

Yes!!!!!!!!! This really annoys me. I have the same problem and then they call me old for liking that music.... I'm 17. I think led zeppelin black sabbath blue oyster cult and the beatles are better than any of the crap on today's radio.

No... "ignorant and disgusting", what the hell is wrong with you!? What does it matter, not everyone loves these bands (the "they're so famous so you must love them" bands) or is even interested in those genres.

I know tons of people who just aren't into music so they don't know about the beatles, nirvana, and certain people, so it doesnt annoy me. It does annoy me however when people claim they love music and music is their life and they don't know what nirvana, black sabbath, led zepplin, ect. is.

You have to realize that everyone has different tastes in music. Most of the musical influence comes from parents. Whatever the parents listen to, the children do too. Also, many kids from our generation are listening to recent, more popular music.
