I admit, I'm not too clued up about sports... but just found out that the Blue Bulls got R20 million from the rugby union this year (big conversation about the unfairness of the bulls winning the Currie Cup and all). That's just one team, and that's a pot load of money. So, I'm curious, is that R20 million part of sponsorship money or does each team make more money on top of that R20 million from each team's individual sponsor? Good grief, does that even make sense? And how does the rugby union make money if not from the team's sponsors?
Okay, onto soccer... do they get nearly as much money as the rugby teams? The sport itself is bigger, so it stands to reason that they should make more and get more? I'm not a big fan of soccer, but it would be nice to see our soccer team win a few big trophies.
