Why is death a reoccurring theme in Edgar Allen Poe's works?

I need about 3 really good reasons to help me research for my research paper. I really appreciate it guys because English is my worst class right now!

My teacher doesn't want this to be like a BIOGRAPHICAL thing... so please nothing about how his life was REALLLY bad blah.

ugg I hate paper that ask you questions like that for a start, Well back then premature burial was a big thing, & I heard paintings wouldn't paint him exactly how he looks because he looked so creepy, I know that this does help your paper much, so sorry in advance but I think that he was just a serious and creepy guy. But I did hear the permature burial thing from my english teacher when we were working on his stuff, oh and his wife and mother died from the same disese, I forget what it was & his wife was his 13 year old first cousin who was also fat. I hte that fact
