My dear lady, Edward was far too interested in sating his hedonistic pleasures to care for being a patron of the arts. The only time the fat oaf was interested in theatrical matters was when his floosie mistress Lillie Langtry appeared on stage while his poor unsuspecting wife Queen Alexandra stayed at home attending to matters of crochet and embroidery.

I don't think Edward VII went in much for literary patronage. Lillie Langtry (metioned in an answer above) who was for a short time his mistress, was a great friend of Oscar Wilde's, but I don't know if he and Edward VII ever met.

I recommend reading Lillie Langtry's autobiography 'The Days I Knew' it's very entertaining.
