okay well when montresor goes and i toast to your long life ! that is verbal irony, because he plans on (and does) kill fortunato, then there is when montresor tells her servants dont dare leave my house ! knowing they would because he wasnt supposed to be home. and a third one i'd say when montresor says i'm a mason, and part of the mens club, but really he brought the trowel to build a wall to put fortunato behind/

    i just read this in english. well, i think this sort of involves fortunado.. but anyway... 3 uses of irony would be his name, his costume, and the title of the story. the use of his name is ironic because it means fortune.. and he has everything but fortune. his costume because he is dressed up like a fool, and acted like one too. the title because it cask means wine barrel and comes from the same word as casket.. which is ironic because foreshadows fortunados death.
