Additional Details

#44's girl, no I don't do drugs, my parents have broke up and I was going back home today (31st Oct) and I really enjoy seeing my dad, so I think that's the reason why I wasn't feeling that happy.

Depression does NOT always have to have an underlying cause such as a loss, fights with parents or friends, etc. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain.
There is help to bring the imbalances back to normal through counseling and/or medication, but you have to seek the help first. Its not gonna come to you.
Find a good psychiatrist or psychologist and get a good analysis. A psychologist can refer you to a psychiatrist if the need for being on a medication arises.

The site that I have listed below is a great site to explain the different types of depression and what can be done about it.

Best of Luck,

Mark

Yes spud, it is possible for a 12 y/o to get depression. There is not a "cure" for depression but it can be treated. It requires the help of a professional psychologist, or if it is chemical in nature a psychiatrist.

It is possible for sure. And depression like Kurt Cobain had involved drugs.

So let's start with this, are you doing drugs? If yes, drug use is linked to depression. If you are not doing drugs, there is a reason you feel depressed, are you upset with your parents? Do you have an interest in someone that does not appear to have an interest in you? Did you have a fight with a friend or friends?

Is there something that happened to you when you were younger that has been building up? All of these questions may provide your solution. Talk to your parents if you can. Talk to a school counselor. Keep posting questions here until someone gives you an answer that makes you feel better. But do not isolate yourself and DO NOT think of mimicking Kurt Cobain's dumba**. When I was your age Kurt Cobain was my freakin' idol and when he died I worshiped him even more. As an adult I look at him and realize that he was just a sad person that didn't have enough guts to face life head on. He was a role model for a lot of people, but I tell you I sure do not want a selfish jerk to be my role model now.
It will get better, I am sure.
If you need to talk to someone, message me. Just do not isolate yourself, it will only feel worse.

Yes it is possible and quite common! If you're describing it "on a Kurt Cobain" level of depression, it is definitely time seek a doctor's help. If you (Spud) are the one feeling depressed, please talk with your parents or a teacher or a school counselor and ask for help. People deserve to feel happy most of the time but millions of people feel exactly what you're feeling day after day. There is help available - please seek it out so you can have a healthier, happy feeling about life.
