Rodent!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Question

I wanna pet rodent... But I have a Weenie Dog! I want one that is sorta slow, can be kept in sorta small cages, and is kinds large, but not like a cappibarra! (The world's largest rodent.) And can be kept ALONE!!!! Any ideas? Oh, and one that is DIURNAL!!!!!!!!!! I know I am asking for a lot, but do you have an idea that is similar to what I discribed?

Are guinea pigs slow moving? I also heard they need to be in pairs and need a huge cage...

aren't hamsters nocturnal? I want a DIURNAL rodent! :)

all rodents are fast even guinea pigs(you would think they would be slow because of how chubby they are but they not). A hamster is small and fast but they dont take up much space. So you should get a hamster plus they are cheap(if you do get one go to www.petmountain.com they have really cheap new nice cages)

Your best bet is a hamster. I recommend dwarf or normal hamsters. Teddybears tend to be the smelliest and least hygenic, while robos are too small and delicate to be worth the same level of cuteness as your sturdy dwarf hamster.

DO NOT get a rat, gerbil, or guinea pig if you only want to have one. These animals like to be in pairs. Also, rats and guinea pigs need pretty large cages.

A mouse may be another option, but hamsters are more durable, and I've read somewhere or other that maybe mice need to be in pairs.

There are NO rodents that match what you want.

The nearest rodent to what you want is a "Syrian Hamster".

ah! people i have 22 mice and if someone only wants 1 pet they should NOT get a mouse, mice need a buddy, the will get along if put together before they are 5 weeks old OR if they are from the same litter also, they are nocturnal, so are hamsters, so are every rodent i can think of. also no "large" animal should be kept in a small cages. It doesn't sound like a rodent is an ideal pet for you.
