Einstein was saying that creating a life that has value to society is better than one that only provides personal rewards.

Angelou is saying that, like cancer, bitterness eats away at you from the inside if you allow it to stay and fester.

Rand is saying that consequences have a life of their own and we can't control those. We can only control things that generate the consequences.
