Will the military pay for reconstructive surgery for spouses?

reconstructive surgery is a type of plastic surgery

plastic surgery is a general term, under that you have cosmetic, reconstructive etc.

ive had plastic surgery on my pinky finger to try and fix the break and to stop the tendons from overshooting. considered plastic but it was in no way cosmetic because it looks gimpy as hell!

I assume you do mean reconstructive surgery, not plastic surgery- as in a medically important surgery due to a car accident or such rather than a little nip/tuck for vanity. If that's what you are referring to, yes. Tricare will approve reconstructive surgery as recommended by your local MTF (military treatment facility). However, they usually won't do boob jobs. (= That's not to say it isn't done, but right now the plastic surgeons are being kept rather busy with wounded soldiers who need their faces repaired. Since this is the case, it's more difficult to get a MTF to refer you for a surgeon's consult.
