Does chocolate cause pimples?

Very few people don't like chocolate, so how come we often end up feeling guilty after eating it? Is it that somehow, by eating chocolate, we're going to end up with a face full of pimples? Is this another example of an old wives' tale?
Also, how can something as horrible as a pimple be caused by something as delicious as chocolate? But is chocolate the bad guy when it comes to acne?
Although there's never been absolute proof of chocolate causing pimples, dermatology books in the 1950s routinely claimed that chocolate caused acne.

Chocolate in itself doesnt "cause" pimples, unless you are allergic to it, which many people are and their reaction to it will be to break out. This happens to my mom everytime she eats even a little bit of it. Sugar is what will give you bad skin and most chocolate has a lot of sugar in it, as does almost all candy. If you must have your chocolate, go for dark chocolate it's a lot better for you than milk chocolate ( i know it doesnt taste as good) also if you are trying to stay away from it but get wicked cravings, take a magnesium supplement because when your body needs magnesium you tend to crave chocolate. Also try Carob, it's a great alternative to chocolate

well it has a butt load of sugar, and sugar cuases pimples. But i think chocolate has bin sterotyped waaay too much for the leading candy cuasing acne, but what about ice cream? juice? sodas? etc. it can i think but not becouse of the chocolate itself, but becouse of the sugar
