Eddie Vedder. I'll take melody over Kurt Cobain anyday, but that's not to say that Kurt Cobain is a lesser musician. It's just my taste.

They are both "grungers", where Kurt is more 'loose' (sloppy) and depressed (the whole click), while Eddie is a better (technically) and more serious vocalist/lead (performer) in my opinion.
