Maine's college team? Montreal? Boston? ...RANGERS?!?!?!?!?
I was also wondering: what US state is hockey really popular in, but does not have their own NHL hockey team?

No, we don't like the Rangers.
Most Mainers are Bruins fans. There are some that are Habs fans.
Most cheer for UMaine
Those in the Lewiston Auburn area cheer for the Lewiston Maine-iacs of QMJHL
Those in Portland cheer for the Portland Pirates affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres in the AHL.
In addition t Maine you could say that hockey is popular in NH and VT... also I've heard from my friend from Minnesota that North Dakota has a lot of fans. Oh... almost forgot... Wisconsin and Rhode Island too....
