Rocky Marciano v. Mike Tyson 15 rounds?

Both fighters enter the ring undefeated Rocky weighing in at 185 lbs and Tyson 210 lbs. Cu's is Mike's chief second and Rocky's brother is his. Both fighters are in great shape. There is a foul smell in the air. What is that on the floor in Rocky's corner lady's and gentlemen Rocky has just &hit him self Joe Louis setting at ringside is laughing as Rocky's people clean up the mess. The bell rings and Tyson charges out firing bombs with both hands bobbing and weaving Rocky trys to hold him of by throwing a wild over hand right that bounces off of Mike's shoulder like a piece pop corn . Mike leaps off the canvas about 10 inches and catches Rocky with a Hybrid left hook upper cut something white comes out of Rocky's head and Rocky flays about 10 feet through the air and lands on his back knocked out in 45 seconds of the first round. The white object that was seen flying from Rocky's head has just landed it was his mouth piece and his teeth are still in it.

I greatly admire Marciano and I'm halfway through an excellent Russell Sullivan biography book on him, but that's most likely how it would have went down, minus exaggerated jumping and flying back and the teeth still in the mouthpiece. If it was the Tyson of 1988 of course. Rocky would be outweighed, outpunched, outskilled, outmatched. Despite the crappy special effects, that's an excellent reality-based decision on the outcome, GPA. And here you had me three days earlier thinking you were dumber than a bag of rocks (only judging by some of your posts), but you are A-okay in my book now.

That was a very accurate portrail of what would have happend. Rocky was very overrated & young Mike Tyson would have beat him like he beat Michael Spinks!!!

Well I guess I will be one of the minority here. Mike Tyson was NOTHING compared to The Rock. Everyone goes on about Marciano's opposition being poor. However who did Iron bite Tyson beat in his day? an old Larry Holmes, Tubbs, Biggs, Bruno wow hall of fame roster.

Tyson when backed up could not fight! Look at ''Buster'' Douglas. Say what u will about Tyson's shape for the fight he had his butt handed to him by a bum who wouldn't back down! Rocky Marciano was only knocked down by 2 fighters in his career.

One of which was Archie Moore who has the most kayos in boxing history! The Rock loved a brawl and unlike some of the answerer's who will say he had no skill, watch fights of Marciano and how he would throw hard punches non stop whilst constantly bobbing and weaving for 15 rounds.

Tyson had no stamina which is a fact and lost his cool when he was being outfought. Marciano could fight 25 rounds and his conditioning was unmatched. Tyson won with power and fear.

Does anyone think Rocky Marciano would be intimidated at all by a bully with a lisp?

After absorbing some shots Marciano would dismantle Tyson within 5 rounds, no question about it. Did Tyson ever get off the canvas to beat anyone at anytime in his career?

No disrespect to the Rock, but a prime Mike Tyson was truly a sight to be hold.

It's a shame that Mike's prime was so short lived, but there was a brief moment in time when he blended everything together in perfection.

I would have chosen that Mike over any version of Rocky Marciano.

However, we have to give credit where credit is due. Rocky was a tough bastard and stopping him would have been no easy task. I'd fully expect this fight to be a war while it lasted with Mike prevailing by late stoppage.

Stylistically, this is a nightmare match up for Rocky.

Marciano was not as fast, explosive, didn't hit as hard, and wasn't half the athlete Tyson was. Tyson actually weighed between 215-220 at his peak compared to Marciano's 185.

The disparity in weight and natural ability would be too much for Rocky to overcome. Not to mention, Marciano came right at you, and didn't know how to back up. That is suicide against someone like Tyson. Rocky just wasn't big or strong enough physically to fight Tyson that way and be successful. Also, if you look at the way Marciano dodged punches, he often put his head in an area where Tyson could get the most leverage in his punches.

Tyson almost decapitates Marciano with an right hook to the body/right uppercut to the head combination to end it in the 3rd round.
