The on;y way to find out is to take a chance and read one. That's part of the fun of reading a book, interpreting it for yourself, what you see in it, someone else might not and vise verse.

    Yes they are wonderful!
But let me warn you that they are challenging to read, and you will have to spent time on them, especially if you don't often read other literature from the 18th century. It can be frustrating at times, so I recommend that you pick an easier book (Sense and Sensibility is my favorite, Persuasion is not difficult either), or watch the movie version first. Take your time reading, don't give up because its worth it, and enjoy!

I think they are absolutely worth reading. If you are worried about being bored, I wouldn't start with "Sense and Sensibility" or "Mansfield Park." While they are good novels, to me they began a little slower than I would've liked. I'd suggest "Pride and Prejudice" or "Persuasion" first, as both are excellent. If you want wit, "Emma" and "P&P" are great choices. Good luck and enjoy!

Austen's "Northanger Abbey" & "Pride & Prejudice" were fun.

P & P was so well-organized and its ending dovetailed so neatly that it had me cheering in my heart. There is very little fluff within this novel's plot. It's a tight, fast-moving little story.

If you like classics like Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights, then you may like her books.
They're basically 18th century chick-lit but witty and a definite classic!

    They are fantastic books!! =D

Once you master the language, you'll enjoy it more. I recommend starting with Pride & Prejudice - its the most popular and most common.

    Good luck!
