Who's excited about the refs coming back?

BQ: What do you think the replacement refs are thinking now that they go back to the D-League and WNBA games?

Can't wait for the regular season to tip off so we can talk some real ball... hoping this keeps it interesting...

I wouldn't say excited. More like relieved. I know you've probably been watching the preseason games like me and noticed that the replacement refs just can't hang. Too many fouls called coupled with too many blown calls. The games go too long (I love long games just not free throws long).

You could see the frustration in the coaches and players faces because of the unfamiliarity with the rep. officials. Basketball is about politics as much as it is about offensive/defensive execution. Not being able to communicate your side or point out violations that the other team is committing to the rep. refs must of been maddening for everyone involved and would have gotten worse in the regular season and out of hand by the playoffs.

So even though I'll be screaming/rolling my eyes/laughing/whining at Dick Bavetta, Tony Brothers, Dan Crawford, Joe Crawford and Violet Palmer for everything they miss or call... it's nice to have them back.

While I am happy that the experienced refs will be back, will they be calling traveling at all - especially with the new rule? Even though the replacements did a credible job, the WNBA or college game will be much slower than the NBA, and just like the players, the officials have to make adjustments as well.

LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Allen Iverson are all jumping for joy. Traveling rules have now been boycotted, and they can all proceed to crab dribble, hop step and palm their way to glory!

But replacements or none; it doesn't or didn't bother me one way. Anybody who knows the game, and has a presence can call a basketball game fairly. I'd actually wish the replacements stayed in a weird way.

Honestly, I agree with the one poster above, how much worse then Bavetta and Crawford can they be? Joey Crawford shouldn't even be in the NBA anymore. I wouldn't even be comfortable with that guy reffing a high school basketball game.

I really don't care about the refs, because they seem to rig games and whatnot. But these replacement refs SUCK, so I guess you could say I'd rather have the regular refs over the replacement ones.

Actually there is something I liked about the replacement refs, but I don't think they have enough experience.

So it's better to have the old ones I guess.

I am not too excited, 1st they thought they need more money, but when NBA got replacement refs they got scared and came back plz give our job backkkkkkkkkkkkk plzzzzz... so loosers!!!
They make so many bad calls anyway!
Although they do have some good refs as well!

I think the replacement refs were to quick to blow the whistle.

It might work if there is two veteran refs with one young ref, then the veteran refs can guide the younger ref.

I have no clue. I can't watch pre-season basketball but im sure its great to have the normal guys back

Me, i think the replacements were garbage...missed a lot of calls...and made calls that didnt make sense...
