I enjoyed The Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong Kingston, The Color Purple by Alice Walker, and To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

I know why the caged bird sings and the color purple are really good, but my favorite is to kill a mockingbird.

The only one I've read is 'To kill a mockingbird'. It's very slow at the start and a bit hard to get into, but it's worth it. Once you get to the middle, the storyline picks up and it becomes really suspenseful and interesting.
