Help with a quote by Charles Baudelaire?

"The whole visible universe is but a storehouse of images and signs to which the imagination will give a relative place and value; it is a sort of pasture which the imagination must digest and transform."


I somewhat already know what this quote means but I just want some input on what other people think it means

I think he is saying that anything can be a source of inspiration. The mind takes from everything that we see and expands upon it to create new things and ideas.
