What are some images you could associate with the poem "Sympathy" by Paul Laurence Dunbar?

What I mean by images is, for example, a caged bird. I need a deeper meaning and image than just a bird caged up, though. I also need image idea for the song "Caged Bird" by Alicia Keys, the poem "Caged Bird" by Maya Angelou, and the story "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelou.

Please, please, PLEASE help me! Thanks! (:

I need to know quickly. Thanks. (:

You have not given us enough to work with here. We at least need the words of the poem.

Anything caged has the deeper meaning of loss of freedom, will and spirit. It also raises issues of dominance and control. The beauty of the bird and its song is also owned thus reflecting on the character of the one holding the bird caged. Think of handbag men and trophy wives.
