in "killing rage" by bell hooks she claims that ''All our silences in the face of racist assault are acts of complicity''

i have to reconstruct as clearly and as forcefully , her argument for this claim. im stuck this is all i have to do to finish please help

Premise !) We know what we are seeing is wrong when we see a wrong being committed.

Premise 2) In doing nothing we are silently giving our consent.

Premise 3) By giving consent we are complicit.

conclusion: In seeing a wrong being committed or knowing that a wrong is being committed and saying or doing nothing, we give silent consent for it's occurance and are therefore complicit.

she is saying that if you do nothing to affront the 'racist assault' you are simply allowing it to happen. if you take it this way, you could make a point that the people in this situation who aren't part of the solution are part of the problem. if you are complacent about something you are content.
