Is a man really supposed to consider his life less important on a sinking vessel than a woman's life?

It's one thing to let the children go first, but to automatcially let a bunch of women who I don't even know or didn't even score with, not that's just downright insulting to me.

LET'S PRETEND THAT WHEN THE VESSEL SINKS, THAT THE IT'S GUARANTEED DEATH FOR EVERYONE WHO SINKS, NO SURVIVORS.

If I'm on a sinking vessel with not enough lifeboats, am I really supposed to consider my life less important and die so all women can live so that I die?

WHY?
What the hell makes my life so unimportant that they're supposed to live and I'm supposed to die?
What the hell makes them so much more important than me?

Am I supposed to just give them the big thumbs up with a huge smile on my face for them as they get on the lifeboat and live while I drown on the vessel and die?

If I was a sinking vessel, would you really want me to die if they're weren't enough lifeboats? I actually value my life and plan to have a good future for myself, so does that make me a bad person if I try to get on a lifeboat if all those who drown meet instant death?

It's one thing for a man to be a gentleman and do nice things for her, even I'll agree to that, but when you're talking life and death, come on! What makes her more importaqnt than him? She's not.

No of course not, but if the time came and you happened to stumble into this mind-set, chances are that you would go down anyway cause you would have missed your place in the boat.

This goes back to times when population growth was the most important thing out there. In a society where there are 50 men and 50 women, in one year's time, there can be no more than 150 people (considering single births). in a society where there are 99 men and one woman, in one year's time, there can be no more than 101 people.

However, in a society where there are 99 women and one man - there can be 199 people in one year.

The woman can only produce one child per year - whereas a man can impregnate hundreds of women during the same time. THIS is why we are so overprotective of females. Is it old and outdated? Sure - but we, as a species, are still very protective of our young, and our females.
