You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?

Does my sexiness upset you?

One convention is to use "x" for lines that don't rhyme with anything. If you choose to use that convention, the rhyme scheme for the first two stanzas would be:

a
x
a

x
b
x
b

In stanzas 3 and 4, the second and fourth lines use the same rhyme that the poet uses in stanza 1. So there you have two more xaxa stanzas.

You should be able to take it from there.

dont worry about the lines that dont rhyme with anything
you restart each time there is a new stanza
so it would be just AA through the whole thing
