More about my pirate story? :)?

Question

Hi, i've wrote loads about the story i'm writing. heres more about it:

so, i was thinking, that Mary is in trouble cos she found a cave with a load of poteen in it (illegal alcohol) she nicked it, sold it, made a fortune. but, she then finds out it belonged to a really feared pirate (Captain Doyle) who had already stole it from another pirate. so captain doyle is mad cos he's broke, so he is blackmailing Mary for the money, or he'll hand her over to the british. and then, the pirate cpt doyle stole from comes after Mary too. so that's why she needs the twins to help her get the money, and fight the other pirates if she can't.
does this sound good?

well, can anyone else think of a reason she would be being blackmailed? PLEASE!! i really need your help!!!

i only put it in this section cos i thought that only irish people would know what poteen is!

Make her be blackmailed for stealing something exciting, like a ruby necklace belonging to the wife of the viceroy, or something. Then having her being "handed over to the British" makes more sense. (This is only my opinion though, it's your story so you can do what you want)

Why don't you change the feared captain's name from 'Captain doyle' to 'Susan boyle?'

Seriously you might get more response if you ask these questions in the "Education & Reference" part of Y!A rather than here in the Ireland section? There are sections on books & authors and words & wordplay. People there will be only to glad to help you out.
