Which book should I study, The English Patient or Oryx and Crake?

The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje or Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood, both Canadian authors.

I want to know from your experiences. I also need to know which has more "literary criticism" I can find on the Internet, which is part of this project for class.

The English Patient is a so much better book, I would prefer that by all means.
I think there is more written about this since it is older and more popular, particularly after the excellent movie was made.
