How much will it cost me for a day of skiing in Europe?

I am backpacking through Europe this winter on a miniscule budget. I had not planned on skiing there because I had assumed that it would cost too much. However, I keep dreaming of skiing in the Alps so I have decided to look into the cost. I have been skiing since I was two so I won't need any lessons. I will not be bringing my skis however, so I will need to rent. I really don't know much about the Eropean ski scene aside from the fairytale ski-into-the-fondue-hut stories. Are places like kitzbhuel and Val d'Isere completely out of my reach? Any wisdom is appreciated.

I was also wondering if there is any price attatched to watching a world cup race from the side lines.
( I watched the lake louise downhill last year from the side no probs)

It's usually cheaper than in the States. Even at the bigger places it won't be more than 40-45 euros a day, which is still cheaper than the bigger US resorts like Vail, Aspen, Stowe, etc. that hover around $90 US. Smaller resorts will be cheaper obviously.
