Can you help me with "how to write with style" by kurt vonnegut ? pleaaasee?

it says:
All these varieties of speech are beautiful, just as the varieties of butterflies are beautiful. No matter what your first language, you should treasure it all your life. If it happens to not be standard English, and if it shows itself when your write standard English, the result is usually delightful, like a very pretty girl with one eye that is green and one that is blue.

can someone explain the simile in the last line ?
thanks soooo much !!! (:

He's saying that people who write in English but grew up with a different language often write differently, making it unique. The girl with the blue and green eyes is very unique, and thus more beautiful and interesting than the next girl with both eyes blue or both green.

An example of this type of author would be Joseph Conrad, who learned Polish and French before English.
