I need a pet carrier to fit my 20 pound cat inside and airplane cabin?

I'm flying with a couple of cats and one of them is around 20 pounds maybe bigger. I need a carrier that's atleast 12" wide and airline approved. These are the airline's requirements:
either 19"Lx14"Wx8.25"H for an aisle or window seat or 19"Lx19"Wx8.25"H
The dimensions of the carrier need to be under those.
Cheaper is better but I would prefer a soft-sided carrier with those comfy bottom inserts. Thanks!

Additional Details

my mom and I are both going so we'll each take a cat. I've already checked petco and petsmart, that's why I'm asking here.

I've already checked everything and he can fly with a big carrier and that's what I'm asking for.

You had better check with the airline right now to see if they will allow you to take two cats with you. The last time I flew with a cat (about 4 years ago) the airline limited the number of animals to one per person.

Additionally, some airlines have limits on the total number of animals in the cabin and, when I last flew, they allowed only one animal in the cabin - not per person, but only one animal on the flight itself.

As to the carrier, I don't think you are going to be able to find a carrier for a 20 pound cat that will fit under the seat in front of you.

Also, 20 pounds may be over the weight limit for animals, again, check the airline.

This may have all changed, but you need to check on it as soon as possible.

I have always used a soft sided carrier as I've not found any rigid carriers that will fit under the seat.

No one examined the carrier to see if it was "airline approved." It was a fairly inexpensive soft sided carrier we bought at a pet store.

You might not be able to take a 20 lb cat in cabin - its too big. You would be pushing it to fly in-cabin with a cat over 13 lbs. They HAVE to be able to turn around in the carrier.

Check with the airlines and see what the weight/size limit is for a 20 lb cat. And forget the hard-sided carriers - the in-cabin ones have to be soft sided ones.

You're going to have trouble finding a carrier that will fit under the seat and be comfortable for the cat. Carriers are supposed to be big enough, for the animal's comfort, that it can stand up and turn around inside. If it has to go under a seat, the 8" measurement is the height from the floor to the bottom of the seat. Think of carry-on suitcases; you put them on the floor with the 19" front to back, the 14" side to side, and the 8" up and down. I have a 14 lb cat and he could only go under the seat if he was lying down the whole time since he's at least 12" at the shoulder. I have a 7 lb cat too, she would do okay with 8" height.
