Anouk - yes, it was creepy. It doesn't end badly though!

edit: Douglas, it gets interesting after about 3 minutes on. You can buy him reading his novel, "And The *** Saw The Angel" on audiobook. You can also get the special edition of his new novel, "The Death Of Bunny Monroe", which is signed and contains a cd of him reading excerpts, but it's uber expensive, that's why I don't have it. The regular book works just fine.

breekatz - The Residents are a cool band. I never heard that about Les Claypool. Very interesting!

The Fillmore? In what city? I know there is one in Denver, and I think one is in CA somewhere. I (at least for the next few days) live kind of near Denver. Been to a lot of great shows there.

I'm game and I like Nick Cave's solo and bands so far to date and now I'm curious.
Edit: I'm back, I noticed that breekatz happened to mention the Residents. As far as Residents goes, that's cool that I saw someone else mention them here. I actually asked a question about them here roughly around a year ago. In fact one halloween in some years past that's what I dressed up as was one of the Residents - complete with an eyeball helmet & sometimes they wore tuxes & top hats, so I went with that with the eyeball helmet. Anyway yes, besides my liking Nick Cave and all his various groups, I definitely like the Residents. In fact Resident's "Duck Stab/Buster and Glen" album is considered to be a definite classic as far as Alternative music goes, besides that, I can easily say it's definitely one of my favorites -

Now the thing is, it's not possible for Primus' singer Les Claypool to have been one of the eyeballs guys (a Residents member for people who don't know who the Residents are) - it's not possible for him to have been a member of the Residents and even less of a chance for him to have been their singer, unless he came into the picture much, much later after the Residents had been around for awhile & at best, replaced one of them after one of them left the group. This is because, if he would've been with them at the beginning days of their group, he would've had to have joined them when he was 6 years old, because they first got together in 1969 actually and they put out their first double single/ep in 1972 & Les would've still only have been 9 years old at that point. Case in point -

Now for crucial listening of the Residents, as I mentioned & would recommend - I would definitely recommend "Duck Stab/Buster and Glen", but I'd say get all their stuff, because it's kind like being in another dimension listening to their tunes. I don't recommend people to get high, but if you happen to be high already anyway, that's one of the best times to be listening to the Residents. Breekatz also had a good point about not following a venue's rules. When I went to see Bauhaus on a reunion tour of theirs, the seating of this place in Minneapolis was supposed to be all reserved seating and I was telling my friend with me there - screw that! - I'm going right in front of the stage and other people did that too.

Anyway, I liked the cartoon especially with Nick Cave narrating it and for another reason I'll mention in a second. I thank you for posting it for us. What I was going to say is with the mosque like towers & the main cat using the typewriter to write a lot, what it reminded me of was William S. Burroughs "Naked Lunch" and a film was made of it by the way-

Edit: True that Lelly, but unfortunately that's the way cities can be with all the swindlers & con people out there. Even the internet too with all the spam, swindlers & bullcrappers out there - like art, it reflects real life. That's part of what people have to sort through in life besides other things people go through for many things - it sucks but on the other hand when people learn enough, to not repeat those mistakes - it can be a valuable learning experience.

I remember listening to Talk is Cheap Vol. II yesterday by Henry Rollins and he was talking about Nick Cave for about fifteen minutes. I somehow forgot what it was about

Edit: so far, I'm not really interested to the cartoon, but I'm loving the narrations. He adds a great grim tone to the cartoon. I'd like to see him do an audiobook for something like a scary story or novel.

Edit2: sorry, I haven't been on for a while. I'll have to check those things out soon, and also Henry Rollins' books and audiobooks.

Ok I loved his voice, but I had stop watching as soon as I heard what the cat piano is it just creeped the heck outta me, but I loved the animation and somehow the first thought that ran through my mind was "darn this reminds of the Black cat by Edgar Allan Poe" don't ask why.

edit, here is the primus version, tell me he does not sound the same as the residents version, conspiracy theory, i guess but the next song is constinoble cover and the vocals sound so similar.

the funny thing the night the residents played my city at a real small club Kraftwerk played and i had tiks months in advance, honestly i would have liked to have seen the residents more,
