Leonard Cohen = Awesome?

Question

'Nuff said, eh?

But not quite - what I'm wondering is, have you read his poetry? Is it worth it?

Personally I ADORE his music, and his novels (I get shivers down my spine reading them... if you are a Leonard Cohen fan and have not read his books, read them read them read them read them read them), but have somehow never read any of his poetry. Is it as awesome as I hope it is?

"Book of Longing" and "Let us Compare Mythologies" are fantastic.

He also has a handful of novels out that you should definitely pick up. Try "The Favorite Game", and then "Beautiful Losers". His written work is very comparable to his music - dark, religious, sexual.
