What book should i red next?

Question

my favorite book is On The Road by Jack Kerouac and the next is the marylin manson long road out of hell

i want something en lighting
and exciting a story but that doesn't go too much into setting details
but mostly a good classic story
and an older one would be great
i like older literature best

Well, I recommend Edgar Allan Poe's works, if you like horror. I have a book with all of his works, they're great =)

Also, why not reading "The DaVinci Code"? Dan Brown is a great writer ^^

Another book I highly recommend is "The Other Boleyn Girl", by Philippa Gregory, I couldn't stop reading it until the last page +.+

There was also this amazing book, "Perfume - Story of a Murderer" by Patrick Süskind.
