Which books should I pick from this list for my Eighth Grade English Course?

Question

Here's the list. I have to pick 2 books, and only two books. So your answer can only be two books.

• Animal Farm by George Orwell
• Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
• Lord of the Flies by William Golding
• A Separate Peace by John Knowles
• A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
• To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
• The Yearling by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings

I want to read Lord of the Flies (I love that movie) but I am contemplating which other book to choose. Thank you.

Anything by Charles Dickens is worth reading, and you should definitely go with To Kill a Mockingbird as well. Happy Reading!

I would choose To Kill a Mockingbird and Jane Eyre. I wasn't a big fan of Lord of the Flies.

Charles Dickens is a very good author.
so i'd probably chose 'A Tale of Two Cities'.
it'll probably be interesting.

'To Kill a Mockingbird', i heard is really good.

I would say Lord of the Flies and To Kill a Mockingbird. Animal Farm and A Tale of Two Cities are okay too. But I don't recommend Jane Eyre.

I heard that To Kill a Mockingbird is very good, but i haven't read it yet.

Jane Eyre & Animal Farm

some of the books are wuite difficult for eight grade. as som tenth grade students doesnt understand To Kill A Mockingbird.

I would say....
A Tale of Two Cities. Because Charles Dickens is amazing.
And To Kill a Mockingbird. I just read it, it's a good classic.

Lord of the Flies by William Golding was pretty good as well.

i know a lot of people who have studied to kill a mockingbird and they all loved it and said it was amazing so i'd do that one :)

I previously said A Tale of Two Cities and To Kill a Mockingbird.

Here is another option, though:
A Tale of Two Cities and Animal Farm.

I personally love the first choice. A Tale of Two Cities is a wonderful novel, and it is a necessity of life to read this, in my opinion. To Kill a Mockingbird is a wonderful novel that is basically about stereotyping.
However, Animal Farm is a great choice if you want something more controversial. At one time, it was even banned, which is something that may be a great addition if you're doing a report on it.
