Avogadro- suggested that equal volume of all gases at the same temp. & pressure contain equal number of particle
Bohr- proposed his model of atom
Chadwick- discovered neutron
Dalton- imagined atom to be indivisible and eternal
Einstein- E=mc^2
Lavoiser- stated the law of conservation of mass & proposed the oxygen theory of combustion

i know einstein off the top of my head contributed to our understanding of gravity and the relationship between mass and energy.

just google the rest. it'll take a bit of time, but you'll quickly find what they are famous for.

Avogadro: Avogadro's number (convert mole to number of particles)
Bohr: atomic structure and quantum mechanics (The Bohr model of the atom, the theory that electrons travel in discrete orbits around the atom's nucleus)
    chadwick: discovered neutron
Democritus: said that atoms are made of tiny, indestructible bits called atoms
Becquerel: discovered radioactivity and has Bq named after him
Dalton: research in atomic theory, laws of partial pressures, and color blindness
    Einstein: e=mc^2
    plank: plank's constant
Rutherford: pioneered planetary model of the atom
