What is a better field to start a career? Medical Billing/coder or Pharmacy Technician?

I am currently thinking about enrolling in school to become a Medical Biller/coder or a Pharmacy Technician. I can't decide which would be a more successful career move any ideas? Where might I be happier?

You could probably find a job easier being a Pharmacy Tech. They're more in demand.

I am a retail pharmacist and I can tell you that there are too many pharmacy technicians out there looking for a job. Unless you know you'll be hired right away after you get your license, finding a tech job is quite difficult right now. Every single time when I am at work, at least 3 phone calls/ people asking if we are hiring. Also, pharmacy work is very stressful. You will be dealing with rude customers, drug addicts, arrogant doctors.... quite often.
However, the choice is yours. Good luck!!!

There are too many Pharmacy Techs and not enough jobs or hours to work. At my job right now, we have 4 techs fighting over 90 hours . . . and of course we all "need" at least 30. It's rough.
That said, you do not need to go to school to be a Pharmacy Tech. Many retail chain pharmacies offer on-the-job PAID training :]

Those are 2 different type of jobs. A pharmacy tech can expect to be dealing with the public just like in retail. A medical biller only works the physician and his assistants. So the question is what are you comfortable in doing?
