Suggest some modern good southern gothic fiction novels? Like Joshilyn Jackson.?

I've read all of Joshilyn Jackson's books and recently finished 'The Center of Everything' by Laura Moriarty. I would like to read something that is in the same vein. Something southern and charming and deep, but still modern. Not really looking for Flannery O'Connor or Faulkner, I want something lighter than that, but nothing by Danielle Steele or anything like that either. I can elaborate more if you need me to. Thanks everyone! :)

i dont know what u mean by gothic, but a good southern fiction novel is a streetcar named desire by tenesse williams. Probably one of the best school books i read. Its very very deep, and one character is somewhat ummmm charming lol... if u read it you will see what i mean.. and even though it was made in the 60s, the books main theme is how modern day society conquers.
