El Nino effects in California?

Question

I live in Northern California, in the Sierra foothills and i was wondering what effects an el nino would have in my area: more or less precip, more frequent snows, warmer, \ or colder.....ect..ect...

There are no real discernible effects during the summertime, but by winter there may be an above average amount of precipitation, especially if it becomes a moderate to strong El Nino. The temperature effects there are not well pronounced so it would be impossible to say right now. By far increased wintertime precipitation seems to be the main effect for that area.
