"the arts" are a more cultured, "higher" pleasure than the pleasure from sex. so, the more you enrich and appreciate the arts (painting, sculpture, music, ballet, etc), the less you desire "lower" pleasures like sex. every person that enriches their "higher" pleasures will diminish their desire for "lower" pleasure, so only someone with NO experience or appreciation for higher pleasures (a barbarian, a brute) will concentrate and get good at lower pleasures. the masses only understand the lower pleasure, or don't value the higher pleasures enough. a true artist would never have sex, as it would take away from greater pleasures.

the second one: what you allow others to perceive of you demonstrates who you are as a person. it shows what you think is important, and what you think is acceptable, and who YOU think you are.

For "Style Is Character" (I Really, Really Got Bored From The First One), It Means That Your "Style", Or Your Way Of Doing Things Or How You Dress, How You Allow People To Precieve You (Or Get An Idea Of You) Is What Or Who They Think You Are, Depending On What You Like.

Like If You Like To Dress Punk, That's Just Your Style, Or You Curse A Lot Or Do Things A Certain Way (Lets Say Cut Yourself Or Whatnot To Accomplish A Certain Goal), People Would Think You're A Freak Or Crazy, While You Probaby (Might) Are, But You Believe Of It As A Way To Get Away From All The Stress Or Whatnot. It's Character.
