Tracking a package from Brazil?

I'm expecting a package that was shipped from Brazil on July 3rd to Los Angeles, CA. I have the tracking number for the Brazilian post office, but it only tracks it up until the time that it has left Brazil. I was wondering if there was anyway I could use the Brazilian tracking number to track the status of the package once it's arrived at the USPS?

I had a package like this a few times. The post office explained to me that the tracking is more to tell you when the package has arrived at the destination. The postal workers are not required to scan the package at all times, but they scan it when it reaches the destination, your home.
