Camus- You'll want to read L'Etranger (normally translated as The Stranger, but sometimes 'The Outside'. Basically it implies distance- like estranged)

Marx- Communist Manifesto.

Herman Hesse- He wrote The Glass Bead Game, Siddhartha, and The Prodigy amongst others.

Franz Kafka- The Metamorphosis is a must-read. Then attempt The Trial

Jean-Paul Sartre- He wrote a lot. Famous for Nausea (a novel) and Huis Clos (a play that has about 5 different english names)

turgenev- think he wrote Fathers and Sons?

Macbeth is a play by William Shakespeare. Worth a read.

Victor Hugo- either Hunchback of Notre Dame or Les Miserables. Maybe read both.
