I am looking for my ancestors, and have tried ancestry just wondering if anyone on here can give me advice.?

My Great Grandmother was Joyce Beatrice Williford she was adopoted and this was her adopted name, her mother was Ida Mary McQueen, of North Carolina, I don't know any more on this except that she was married more than once, the first time to Clyde Percy Holland originally of Virginia, and he was in the Army. And a second time to someone with the last name of Potter. She may have been married in between there some time I am not sure. Also I know that my Great grandfather Clyde Percy was said to have been married before he married Joyce. Joyce was said to have married him young and there was at 28 years difference in their ages. If anyone could give me any help or advice that would be GREAT! Thank you all in advance!

Ida Mary adopted Joyce. McQueen was her maiden name.

I have no idea when anyone was born, Joyce or Jucie as we all called her passed away in either 2001. It sounds like that might be her in the second post. I wish it was Harry that would be awesome.

Just found out from My grandmama that Joyce died on Dec. 30th 2001 she was buried in 2002 because it was after new years day. Also Clyde Percy was born in 1904, in Myrtle, Virginia. I was able to find a WWII record of him listing him as Clyde Perry Holland. I also just found out that he lied about his age and joined the national guard at the age of 16, then transfered to the Army. His parents died when he was young of tuberculosis (sp) and he lived with his brother and his brothers wife until he was 14 then he left home and lived in boxcars off and on until he finally turned 16.

And Clyde's dates? Ida Mary gave Joyce up for adoption?
