Spirit Airlines now owns Air Jamaica?

Question

I am so disappointed because Spirit Airlines dont know how to treat their customers. All they do is nickle and dime the customers.

The Gleaner has learned that Indigo Partners and Oaktree Capital, who are reportedly the owners of Spirit Airlines, have bought the country's national carrier, Air Jamaica.

It is further understood that Air Jamaica's name might be changed to Spirit of Jamaica. YUCK!!!!!!!!

OH i didnt even know. Where I live they still have air jamacia on the chart. i hope spirit airines wakes up because the air jamacia customers will be pissed off

Sad day.

I've heard from one insider (at AirJ) who said the story IS NOT TRUE. We will see how it pans out. I am just hoping it ISN'T true.

I'm truly upset if this is true, because I can't stand Spirit Airline. And you are absolutely correct in stating that they nickle, dime and penny the customers. It's bad enough Air Jamaica doesn't offer the champagne flights anymore... but come on... they couldn't do better than Spirit?

I hope not because I hate spirt ....everytime I travel with them, I am tense, becuz the plane making these weird sound and i am so afraid that they will turn me in a spirit

I hope and pray Air Jamaica's safety record isn't impaired by Spirit, the most unfriendliest when it comes to customer service.
